HYPE
In the passage "Hype" by Kalle Lasn talk about how advertisements pollute and poison the mind from the moment we open our eyes until we go to sleep, and the statistics of the survey made by Lasn at that time did that survey shows we are exposed to an estimated 12 billion of display ads, 3 million of radio commercial, and more than 200.000 TV commercials just in North America, in corporate America now a days by competition between corporations and companies we are exposed to so much publicity and growing every day more and unstoppable advertising plus adopted the technology more competitive marketing that makes us into a future where there is no free spaces not see a logo or an ad, therefore these companies try to brainwash consumers intoxicating with advertising on all media to convince the minds of consumers.
Lasn even go more deep on this with the sample from the passage of the nozzle of the gas station with the brand example.
Clearly see the difference when we watch an old movie, there were not too many signs or ads or logos, just a few like the most popular Pepsi and Coke.
And other example of that is when we watch a TV and listen the radio, usually a movie length would be much shorter than with commercial and on other hand with the radio we will listen more music that ads, we used to have more music than now we are intoxicated and annoying commercials.
The statistics that Lasn made I believed where right by that time the research was made, but now i think there where more than that, therefore I agree with the author with the fact of the increasing of the commercials, advertisement its toxic and viral for the companies’ competition, therefore we will be liable to be mentally contaminated by many commercials and ads.
