Blog Entry 3

“The Allegory of the Cave”

The author of “The Allegory of the Cave” is the philosopher Plato, who lived in Athens about 2400 years ago. And Socrates was a student of Plato; he has a conversation with Glaucon about a complex philosophical idea, and Socrates try to explain to Glaucon how nature enlightened and unenlightened using a figurative example to explain the difference between true belief and true knowledge.

With The example of how the people are located in ignorance and do not want to leave it for more to be Shown the truth, if someone tries to unlike reveal or to Explain Them What They Want to Eliminate the example of competition exists in real life, and so what happened with Socrates in self he has to drink a poison and die, some like in “The Allegory of the Cave” the prisoner who was released and returned to tell to the others what he see they didn’t nor acknowledged they understood what he said, unlike if they could put him to kill.

Therefore, what we have for reference, or by intuition is not always the truth, but that is needed is to study and reflect and reason for arriving at the truth.

PART #2

But his example we can position ourselves today to the cave or outside it?
I think in my case I live outside the cave and I have much experience and education to face the adversities in life because I like to
analyze and find the reason of things.
